What is a QC finder and how does it work?
Updated , 5 min read

A QC finder is a search box for quality-control photos. You paste a product link, and it shows you photos of that exact listing taken in an agent's warehouse when other people bought it. No account, no order, nothing to pay.
Where QC photos come from
When you buy from Weidian, Taobao or 1688 through a shopping agent, the seller doesn't ship to you. They ship to the agent's warehouse in China. Before the agent packs your parcel, a worker opens the bag, puts the item on a table and photographs it: front, back, tags, close-ups, often with a tape measure across the chest or along the sole. Those are QC photos, short for quality control.
Thousands of buyers order the same popular listings, so the same item gets photographed again and again. A QC finder collects those photo sets (usually called albums) and groups them by listing. When you paste a link, it looks up which listing that is and shows every album it knows about.
Why they're more useful than seller photos
Seller photos are taken once, of the best unit, under good light. Sometimes they're not even photos of the seller's product but retail pictures taken from the brand. QC photos are the opposite: harsh warehouse light, no editing, and a random unit from the seller's stock. That's exactly what you want to see before paying, because it's what you'll actually receive.
A few albums from different buyers tell you more than any review:
- Consistency. If ten albums show the same logo placement and stitching, the seller ships one batch reliably.
- Real colour. Cream, olive and washed black look different in every studio shot, but warehouse light is the same for everyone.
- Real size. The tape measure in the photo is worth more than the size chart.
Which links work
QC Finder reads links from the three big Chinese marketplaces and from agent sites:
- Weidian item links (weidian.com/item.html?itemID=…)
- Taobao and Tmall item links (item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=…)
- 1688 offer links (detail.1688.com/offer/….html)
- Agent product pages like KakoBuy, Oopbuy, Sugargoo and the other supported agents
Agent links are converted automatically. The agent's page is a wrapper around a marketplace listing, and the finder unwraps it to find the listing underneath. Short links from apps, Yupoo album pages and spreadsheet redirect links usually don't contain the listing ID. Open them in a browser first and copy the final address.
What a QC finder can't tell you
Earlier photos show what the seller has shipped before. They aren't a promise about your unit. Sellers switch batches under the same link, colours sell out and get replaced, and a bad day at the factory still happens. Treat past QC as a strong hint for choosing a seller, then check your own photos when your item arrives at the warehouse. Our guide on how to check QC photos covers that part.
Using it in practice
- Copy the product link from the marketplace or your agent.
- Paste it into the search box on the QC Finder homepage.
- Open a few albums, not just the first one, and compare them with the listing photos.
- If there are no albums yet, nobody has ordered that listing through a tracked agent recently. Check another seller of the same item, or be the first and share your own photos.
Questions
Is a QC finder free?
Yes. QC Finder is free and doesn't need an account. You only need an agent account when you decide to buy.
Are QC photos the same as seller photos?
No. Seller photos are taken by the seller to sell the item. QC photos are taken by the agent's warehouse staff after an item was bought, so they show a real unit without editing.
Why does the same link show different looking albums?
Warehouses use different lighting, listings often have several colours or sizes, and some sellers change batch over time. Compare several albums and look for what most of them agree on.
Can I search by item name instead of a link?
QC photos are grouped by listing, so a link is the reliable way to find them. Names in Chinese marketplaces change and many sellers list the same item under different titles.
